ELEVATION PROFILE

In Brief

Named for Revolutionary War hero Marquis de Lafayette, Mount Lafayette, elevation 5,260 feet, is the highest mountain in New Hampshire outside the Presidential Range and the seventh tallest in New England. Located east of Franconia Notch, the summit is on the northern terminus of spectacular Franconia Ridge. Significant rock and boulder scrambling is required, but you will be rewarded at the summit area with unsurpassed 360-degree views of the surrounding White Mountains.
