It was tough dragging myself out of bed, especially after the late night I’d had. I was thinking about the interview and what I was going to say. I just wanted to keep it as simple as possible.

Will, the media guy from the Carlton Football Club, met me at the radio station. I told him where I was at and he was fully on board. I assured him I wasn’t going to be inflammatory because that wasn’t how I felt.

Alex gave me some advice about presentation but the content was all mine. It was important to me to be clear and decisive, so I had four or five points in my head and that was it.
