Chapter Thirteen

Zeke bit back a smile at her spunk. She was definitely a fighter, and it would bring him a lot of enjoyment to piss her off in the years to come. He loved seeing the fire in her expression and how passionate she got when she wanted her way.

Zeke grinned when she growled at him. “Just listen to me, please. Someone was there when we were at the house, and my gut told me they weren’t there for a friendly visit. They wouldn’t think of getting you involved if you acted as if you disliked me. At least that’s what I hoped.”

Kayla sighed. “So, what happens now?”

“We keep pretending out in public, but in private, we do this,” he murmured and lowered his head. His mouth pressed against hers.

He smiled when she looked confused.

“Audience?”
