A theme is a collection of colors, fonts, and effects that alter the overall appearance of your page. The default Office theme is used whenever you create a document in Word.

To change the theme of your document:

Click the Design tab.

Click the Themes command in the Document Formatting group.

A drop-down list appears.

Hover your cursor over a theme to preview it in your document.

Click your desired theme to apply it.

Customizing a theme

You can change any theme element (i.e., color, font, and effect) to create a unique look for your document.

To change themes colors:

Go to the Design tap.

Select Colors command.
