The maximin strategy then will direct Ruth to select row 3 and Charlie to choose column 3 resulting in an outcome with payoff pair (6, 8).
On the other hand, if Ruth is the one who is informed of Charlie’s decision when she makes her own, and if Charlie is aware of this fact, then he will reason as follows:
