Caris came awake in increments. Her body, sore in places sheâd forgotten she had. Come to think of it, the places she knew she had had never been treated so well as they had by Blake. No idea what time it was, not that she particularly cared. She reached out for Blake and found the bed empty. The pillow was still warm, so he hadnât gone far.
After a room service dinner that first night, theyâd ended up in the master bedroom and spent the rest of the evening, or maybe it had still been day, in bed. Her quiet vacation had turned into a sex romp. She smiled into her pillow and stretched. Two days had passed since then, and they hadnât left the villa. Two days of fun, naked-time. Good thing theyâd found a box of condoms in the nightstand.
A murmur of voices drifted in from the main room and then the sound of a door closing.
âYou have a swim suit, right?â
Blake stood in the doorway in board shorts, an unbuttoned, Hawaiian shirt and mirrored sunglasses. She swallowed twice before she found her voice. The man was sculpted perfection. His abs and chest peeked out from the cotton material and his arms. God, she loved his arms. Thick biceps and corded forearms. All of him really. She couldnât get enough of his body.
She gave up hiding her reactions to him two days ago and become addicted to his hot, sultry gazes and constant caressing had increased her confidence ten-fold. She often laughed at his knowing smirk whenever he caught her checking him out. Which happened a lot.
She was going to miss how he looked at her almost as much as the heart-stopping sex sheâd become addicted to.
Whose idea was it anyway to put a time limit on their time together? She questioned that decision often but always talked herself out of opening her big mouth to see if he would consider seeing each other once they returned home.
No way. She had plans, and he didnât do relationships. From his mouth to her ears. But he did do orgasms and fun. Her need to have a baby currently outweighed her bodyâs desire to have Blake permanently in her bed, or as permanent as he could offer. Sheâd find someone eventually who could make her feel as Blake had. Maybe.
âI found someone to teach us how to paddle board. Letâs go.â
Paddle board? Sheâd never been the athletic type. Shopping at Macyâs after-Christmas sale was as close to playing a sport as she came. Not sure if she could stand on a board on the water, without looking foolish, she scrambled to find a good excuse to refuse.
She wasnât quick enough. Blake lifted her out of the bed and carried her to the shower.
âWait a minute. I donât want to paddle board. Letâs go back to bed, hmmm?â
âLater. Itâll be fun. Weâre feet from the ocean, Caris. Wouldnât it be nice to get out there and experience something new?â
She scrunched her face
