‘I thought you’d like these costumes,’ says Tina. She bursts into tears. Waaaaah! I try to hug her, but we’re too bouncy. ‘The fabric’s eco-friendly and everything!’ she wails. ‘There are no chemical dyes. I thought you’d be proud.’

‘Well,’ says Brio, ‘I suppose if it’s helping to save the planet …’

Never mind saving the planet, what about saving me? At this rate, I’ll be dead from exhaustion before we even hit the water! Boing! Boing! Boing!

‘You’re doing great,’ says Estrella.

She’s nice, but I think she’s lying. We’ve nearly made it to the pool slide (yes! Estrella has a slide!) when we hear a noise from inside: Pop! Pop! Pop!

‘Explosions!’ I gasp.

‘No,’ calls Kenji from the living room. ‘Someone’s popped all the balloons.’

How did he get there? I could have sworn he was right behind me! We bounce back. Ooof. What a workout!

We crowd into the living room. The vandal has gone, but not before they’ve pulled down Estrella’s ‘Happy Birthday’ sign and ripped it to pieces.

‘Yippy might have seen someone,’ says Kenji. ‘He was right here.’

I look into his big, cute puppy eyes.
