It’s Friday, and tomorrow is my first big event. I feel like I want to throw up everywhere. My nerves are on an all-time high. I thought having Wills around all week would keep me calm until I realized he didn’t want to have sex. What the actual F is that all about?

He came over most nights with Buddy before Charlie’s bedtime. Then we both worked way into the night. I was hoping maybe something more would happen between us, you know, for pleasure and relaxation. I needed a natural relaxant, and ever since he mentioned it’d been three years, it’s like my body is going into overdrive, wanting more.

Wills is usually a sex fiend, but he never tried once, not once, since his office blow job this week. What’s that about? He even told me he knew how to destress me, yet—Nothing.

So, I’m a little on edge, because of tomorrow and because of Wills.

“Marco?!”

“Yes, love?”

“How the hell are you so calm right now, we need to leave in five minutes to the venue, and where the hell is my brother?”

We needed an extra hand setting up, I was going to hire someone, but both Jackson and Wills volunteered. Jackson has been sniffing around, wondering why I haven’t been able to hang out all week, so I thought it was best to go with him.

“I’m about to slip you a Xanax in your tea. You need to breathe and calm down. We have everything under control.”

He’s right. I close my eyes and breathe. I’m never stressed like this. But I guess I’ve never had an opportunity like this before, and I need this to go off without a hitch. I need the client to love it, and I need this for Charlie and me. I need to be a good role model—I need her to know I’m strong and will always be able to take care of us.

“Hello?”

“In the back!”

Jackson walks through, coming over to hug and kiss me. He keeps a hold of me, taking a good look at me. “Hey, Sades, you okay?”

“Trying to be. Let’s just get everything over to the venue.”

And that’s what we do for the next few hours, many trips back and forth, lifting and setting up equipment. Prepping as much as we can before the actual installation of flowers tomorrow.
