I didnât take Sammyâs kisses for granted, so when he kissed me in front of the crew my late husband belonged to, it made me fall for him even more. The fact that he didnât care and was willing to let anyone and everyone know how he felt, even without saying the words, meant something to me I would forever be thankful for.
Whatever it was that we were doing, didnât have a label on it, but I knew that he was the only one I wanted to do it with.
Sammy slipped his tongue between my lips, pulling a moan from the back of my throat. He circled an arm around me, cupped my ass, and pulled me even closer toward him.
Before the kiss could turn into more, he nipped my bottom lip, lifted his head, and gave me a wink.
âThat was uncalled for,â Tiny growled from his spot behind the desk.
âYou know you would have done the same thing,â was all Sammy said back.
I shook myself, not liking all of the eyes suddenly on me. âLetâs go.â I grabbed Sammyâs hand, leading him out of the office and to the back of the club. âYou know heâs right,â I said, once we were finally outside. We walked around the building to where my car was sitting at the front.
âDonât care, babe. I donât like how these fuckers think you still belong to Aaron. The bastard is dead and gone and...â
âWhat?â I asked when Sammyâs voice trailed off.
âForget it.â
âNo.â I stopped, spinning on him. âYouâve never not said exactly whatâs on your mind before, so tell me, Sammy. What were you going to say?â
Sammyâs brows narrowed. âHe still has control over you.â
I flinched, looking away.
Sammy started walking, keeping me at his side until we reached my car.
âWhere are you staying?â I asked, pulling my keys from my bag.
âA hotel downtown.â He slipped into the passenger seat as I opened the driverâs side door.
Just as I was about to lower myself into the car, I caught movement out of the corner of my eye. Looking up, I found Tiny and a couple of the other guys standing at the entrance to the older building. Tiny nodded once and lifted his phone.
I pulled my phone from my bag, finding a text from him.
