As Jax, Roman, and I drive to the bar for our group night, I can’t help but look at them during the drive. Jax’s hair is messy styled, and I love how neat and trim he keeps his beard. I want to rub my hands on it all day long. His subtle muscles fill out his T-shirt that I can glimpse under his leather jacket and his jeans do something to me.

Roman’s blond hair is brushed back neatly into a low ponytail. It’s not very long, but it’s long enough that he doesn’t like to leave it down all the time. His face is clean shaven, as always, and the man is wearing a damn Henley with the sleeves rolled up. That shit should be illegal.

“You’re staring,” Jax comments, his lip twitching up into a small smile.

“I can’t help it,” I confess. “You both just look so good.”

His full smile appears, a small dimple peeking through the hair on his face, and a small smirk shows up on Roman’s face. Jax glances at me and gives me a once over.

“You’re always looking like a goddess. It’s so fuckin’ hard to keep my hands off you,” he tells me.

I flush a little and when he puts his hand on my thigh, I wrap my fingers with his.

If he keeps touching my thigh, I might combust.

Roman, sitting behind me, wraps his hand around the seat to brush my hair back from my face a little.

Okay, I’m going to combust, it’s inevitable.

We arrive at the Jerry’s Pub, and I hold hands with Jax as we walk in. Olivia and Amy aren’t here yet, but Jax heads over to a table that has open seats with plenty of room.

I snag a seat and sit, an open spot on either side of me. There’s a silent battle happening behind me for where Roman and Jax are going to sit. I’m sure there’s a guy strategy that they’re using, but Roman ends up next to me with Jax across from Roman.

I’m not sure why they aren’t just sitting on either side of me, but whatever floats their boats.

“So how did you guys meet?” I ask. “I know you were in shop class together, but I don’t think I’ve ever asked either of you how you met.”

“That was actually the first day we met. We both got lost looking for the shop room and just kind of stuck together,” Roman confesses.

“Yeah, he’s had my back since hour one, especially with that teacher I told you about,” Jax adds.

“Oh man, I wish I had been there,” I tell them. “That was hilarious.”

Roman’s lips pull in a small smirk. Which means he’s basically laughing, I’ve learned.

The waitress comes by to take drink orders. I add an order of appetizers as well, knowing Amy and Olivia will be here soon, and the waitress gives me a once over before pasting a semi-polite smile on her face and walking away.

Well shit, I didn’t want to deal with this tonight. I wanted a fun, worry-free evening.
