Maddox

I stared at my phone, wondering if I might need two shopping carts. I’d spoken to the guys to get a general idea of what we’d need, but I still had to pull up a search on my phone for more ideas on what to get omegas in heat. I’d already ordered floor cushions to make a massive bed in the extra room, a variety of soft blankets in every texture and material, but I figured I also needed plenty of pillows to go along with everything.

“Need some help?” A beta woman appeared, looking sympathetic as she glanced at my overflowing cart. The pack had sent me to get the materials, and I wanted to learn all I knew about the nesting and heat process. Kian hadn’t reached out since we all got back home, but I decided to give him some space. We hadn’t hosted an omega before, and it had been smart to keep it that way. Kian was right about one thing. An omega would be a target for anyone who wanted to cross us. But if she wanted to stay - and I hoped beyond hope that she did - we’d find a way to work around it.

“Yeah, I think I do. I have all these blankets, but I was thinking pillows might be good for the nest as well.” The saleswoman nodded and motioned for me to follow her.

“Pillows are a requirement. As far as the type of material, first tell me - what is your omega like?” She asked as she reached for various pillows in the next aisle. I thought for a moment.

“Well, she’s not mine - yet anyway - but she’s very resilient. She’s positive, like a beam of light that can brighten up any bad day. She’s smart and strong, although I think she doesn’t see that in herself, at least not yet. She’s kind and loving, with a huge heart.” The beta’s eyes softened at my words.

“She certainly sounds special. I’d say stick with softer colors, warm lighting, and modal or fluffy materials. Here, try these.” She handed me a few pillows in soft pastel colors. They reminded me of comfort and relaxation, which is exactly what Bella needed for her heat. She had been through enough and needed to feel as secure and cared for as possible. “These are perfect. I’ll take ten of these, and another ten in complementary colors and similar materials. And I’ll need another cart. Also, where can I find these treats?” I showed her the list of most desired sweets during heat ranked by an omega blogger. The woman looked at it briefly.

“These are all good options. Stop over next door at the Sweet Treats shop. But don’t forget to stock healthy items, too. And get more than you think you need for afterward - everyone involved will be famished.” I nodded, thinking of where I needed to stop next. “It’s your first time, isn’t it?” She asked while giving me a knowing look.
