Traveling further north we came to a highline cut that marked the northern boundary of the property. It was March and it had been raining. And as I had hoped, we did find some footprints in the mud along the highline cut. They had been rained on but the detail was unmistakable. Wide, flat, humanoid footprints made a path pointing toward the highway.
Just a few weeks later, Mark and his son would catch sight of a massive brown-haired Bigfoot walking swiftly across this same highline cut about 100 yards away from them. Using some small cedars that the creature walked by for reference, Mark estimated its height to be over eight feet tall. Not far to the north of that highline cut is a highway and a few miles north of that highway lay the Kiamichi Mountains which are a major hotbed of Bigfoot sightings.
Looking around the property, I began putting together a probable scenario in my mind. It is my opinion that these creatures do not stay on this 80-acre plot of land. The evidence that I found was not of prolonged habitation. The evidence, at least to the best of my knowledge, was that Mark just happened to live in an area that was a sort of crossroads to a family unit of these shy and elusive creatures. They may well have been crossing through this plot of land for years unnoticed by its few inhabitants and became curious when a family with small children moved in. This curiosity led to them being observed first by Markâs children and later by him. The fact that Markâs family doesnât allow hunting on their property may well have contributed to the increased activity near his home as well. The peak of activity by these Sasquatches was November and December which corresponds with the state's deer hunting season. Mark, rightfully so, was concerned as to whether these creatures posed a potential threat to his children.
