Since the virus began, we’ve been hearing about increases in domestic violence, child abuse, and addiction. Mental health issues and suicide are magnified at this time as well. When people are struggling or irritated, they don’t bring their best selves to work. They’ll start to form cliques and make snap judgements. They follow group mentality, instead of thinking for themselves. They’ll let cell phones and social media pull them away from their daily duties. Their team culture becomes toxic, their effectiveness wanes, and their communication can turn passive aggressive. None of this will fly in Corporate America. It’s simply not worth risking your clout and client relations.
