The swelling eventually spreads to all of your connective tissues. Mucin is responsible for the puffiness and water retention associated with hypothyroidism. The heart, which contains connective tissue, is seriously affected by hypothyroidism, and mucin leads to injury of the arteries. As tissues become engorged with mucin, heart function slows, which leads to a weak and wounded heart, unable to pump blood efficiently. It has been documented that treatment of an enlarged heart using natural thyroid supplementation reduces it to its normal size. Treatment with desiccated thyroid USP returns the tissues to normal, but if the treatment is halted, mucin again increases rapidly.
As you know, the thyroid is responsible for your bodyâs metabolism. Normal thyroid metabolism helps to prevent recurrent infection and chronic inflammation. Your bodyâs natural defense against inflammation is to produce antioxidants to fend off dangerous free radicals that create oxidative damage in your body. A slow metabolism not only affects the efficiency of the central nervous system, cardiovascular and skeletal systems, and kidneys and hormone producing tissues, it also affects the rate at which antioxidants are produced. The result is that few antioxidants are left to minimize the effects of free radicals. This leaves your arteries and blood vessels open to further attack, leading to atherosclerosis.
While Americans are busy worrying about their cholesterol levels and swallowing statin drugs with sugary soft drinks, the unsuspected killer is left to wreak havoc on American hearts. It saddens me to think of how many early deaths could have been prevented with proper assessment and treatment of hypothyroidism. As Dr. Barnes stated, âThe first symptom of hypothyroidism that a patient may notice is a heart attack.â If heart disease runs in your family, donât allow it to continue to affect you or your family members. If you have the symptoms of hypothyroidism and a low basal body temperature, it is imperative that you ask your physician for a therapeutic trial of natural desiccated thyroid USP. Your heart depends on it.
