The Jon-ny Partner ($587) is what many call the Cadillac of portable toilets, a bombproof, stainless steel holding tank. The price includes the tank with an automatic pressure-release valve, a transport lid with rubber gasket and collar clamp, a toilet seat with a lid, and a flush kit (a clamp-on funnel, equipped with a ¾-inch opening for a garden hose, an inside sprayer, and a sewer hose) for RV dumping stations. The Jon-ny Partner is also compatible with the SCAT Machine. Dry weight is 20 pounds (90 when full) and capacity is 50 to 60 user-days—calculated at 27 cubic inches per person, per day, and based on a study of boaters who ate such things as pork chops and omelets for breakfast! Stout handles at seat level and a square design (12 × 12 × 17 inches), assure stable seating. The toilet seat has a flange that fits down inside the box and provides additional stability when in use, but many require cleaning before packing away. River outfitters, catering to classy clients, will sometimes bring enough Partners to open a new one every day. Sold mostly to commercial and private whitewater boaters and hunting parties for base camps. The Forest Service in Alaska and Idaho packs them in with trail crews. Customizing is welcomed; ask for Bill Roskelley.
