Chapter Twelve

Awakening with just enough sunlight left outside to see, Red starts the grill. We rush to bake a trio of spuds in the coals, grill my steak and prepare his vegetables. While I tend the food, Red puts together a salad. Once everything is ready, we scarf down our dinner like two hungry bears. Bed sports definitely works up an appetite.

Following dinner, we’re both quiet, spent and comfortable enough in each other’s company to appreciate the silence. We spend an hour listening to the wolves and crickets while making small talk. I ask why, with the nearby lake, there aren’t any bullfrogs croaking to complete the night-time songfest. Red informs me that bullfrogs aren’t a native species. Tired and out of topics, we’re content with only the wolf song for company. We turn in shortly after the wolves move on, and spend the night spooning.

I awaken once in the night, dick hard as hell and throbbing with the need to come, right fucking now. Red’s under the sheet with his lips wrapped around my cock, while his talented tongue licks my eager flesh. I try to tell him he doesn’t need to do that, but he puts his hand over my mouth, shushing me. He continues sucking me, and in no time, I’m coming and Robin’s swallowing, lapping and cleaning me up. With a satisfied sigh and a quick peck to my cheek, he cuddles next to me, and goes back to sleep, leaving me blissfully sated and more certain I could love this man.

When the first annoying ray of sunshine spills through the cabin’s bare bedroom window, I open my eyes, pleased to discover Red still curled beside me. His hand lies over my heart while mine molds to his butt. Except for the little snuffles from Red, it’s quiet in the cabin. I savor the calm, noting not only is my body satisfied, but my mind is also at peace. There are no niggling regrets hiding in the recesses of my thoughts. This is how a man is meant to awaken, not alone and filled with remorse. A wolf howls in the distance, and an eagle’s screech pierces the morning air. I can smile at the outdoor sounds, knowing I’m safely cocooned within the cabin’s walls, and Robin lies by my side.
