Cage bought every supply he could think of.

Meat. Vegetables. Fruit. Rice. Noodles. Salt. More meat. Blankets. Soft clothes for their lady. Toys for the babies. More meat. Milk. Eggs.

More meat.

A chest freezer.

Babies.

They had babies.

Him and Mason had babies.

Him and Mason had babies with Dixie.

Good lord.

He pulled into the driveway, sniffing at the gate, growling low at the scent of strange male. It wasn't faint, either, like it had been and gone before he and Mason showed up. It was strong, like someone had sprayed less than an hour ago. He snarled, grabbing his cell phone as he drove through, locked up again. Mason, answer the phone.

There was no answer, just the most annoying ring in the history of rings, over and over.

He headed down the driveway, pushing the speed. Come on. Come on.

The hair was standing up on the back of his neck, his teeth wanting to bare. Damn it, please let everyone be all right.

He squealed to a stop in front of the house. "MASON! DIXIE!"

There was no answer, nothing but the sound of birds chirping in the background.

He growled, leaping onto the porch, muscles starting to ripple. His pride.

His.

"MASON!"

Mason came flying out onto the porch, wearing nothing but a scowl, carrying a shotgun. "String? What's wrong?"

"Oh. Oh, God. Did you run him off? Fuck, I thought..." His hands were like claws, face flattening.

"Who? Run who off? What are you talking about, honey?"

"A male. All over the front gate. Since I've been gone."

"Shit. Shit. Stay here." Mason handed him the gun and went inside, probably to get dressed. He hoped. That naked body was distracting at best, dangerous at worst.

He paced, rumbling softly, nose twitching, boots clacking on the porch board.

Mason came back, grabbing the shotgun, wearing a pair of jeans. "Unpack the truck and get inside."

"Don't you fucking bark at me." He headed down the porch steps. "I ain't your dog." Besides, he needed help unloading the freezer.

"I just need you to do it, Cage. I got your back." Oh. Mason was standing guard.

"There's a freezer. I'll need help with that eventually." Cage started humping groceries.

"Yeah. Yeah, we'll do that last. I just want to make sure no one gets at us."

"Yeah. They okay?" Their family?

"Fine. Just fine." Mason paused to give him a slow grin. "Real good."

He caught himself grinning back. "Good."

"You know it. That the last of it?"

"Yeah." He sort of blinked. Man, there was a lot of it.

"Well. Come on, I'll help you with the freezer." Mason set the gun just inside the door, coming down to help him unload.

"I thought I should stock up. She's skinny."

"She is. She's eating into her own reserves for the babies, huh?" They needed their curvy girl back.

"Yeah. I keep thinking about her, her having them, all alone." Cage was sick about it, too. He knew - he knew - it was his fault they left her.

"We have to get past that, huh?" Mason hefted one end of the freezer easily. "Love on her."

"If she wants me to, yeah." Cage wasn't sure about that.
