This voice Columbus said he heard also compared him to heroes from the Bible and said his best times were yet to come. Columbus wrapped up his letter by admitting he wasn’t certain whose voice he’d heard. Still, he vowed to keep trying to conquer other lands for Christianity because he was sure that was what God wanted.

Since Columbus was stranded, there was no immediate way for him to send his letter. But that didn’t really matter. When Ferdinand and Isabella did finally get to read it, they just ignored it anyway.
