Special considerations: An outhouse and picnic tables are available at the parking area, but there’s no water.
Finding the trailhead: From the Big Stump entrance station, drive north to Grant Grove Village. Turn right (east) at the visitor center and drive through the parking lot, past Bradley Meadow to the junction with Panoramic Point Road, which is next to the new John Muir Lodge. Make a right (northeast) turn and follow Panoramic Point Road to the Panoramic Point trailhead at the road’s end. The trailhead is 5.5 miles from the park boundary. The paved beginning of the trail begins at the southeast end of the parking area. GPS: N36 45.13' / W118 56.47'
