Chapter 12

Bennett and Lori took their time showing the part of the house they planned to lease to 'other people'. The way they talked about it, though, made it clear they already pictured the couple moving in the very next day. The 'you can do this' and 'feel free to change that' made that all too obvious. At the same time, they also insisted that they didn't want to put any pressure on the couple. They'd have their own living room and kitchen on the ground floor - not as large as the ones they'd seen, but still the spaces were far more than 'adequate'. One floor up there were a few bedrooms, a changing room, a huge bathroom which had its own two-person sauna and Turkish bath, and a few other spaces that they could use in whatever manner they saw fit.

Emma was dizzy from all the information they'd gotten. She was relieved when the tour was over and they found themselves sitting outside with cool drinks.

Jeff asked why the house had two sections. Bennett explained that his parents had set up the company together with one of his uncles, and they worked so closely together that they had decided to build this 'two families under one big roof' house.

"So when Lori and me inherited it, we ended up with a two-family home for the two of us. And having all that space just for us is getting on our nerves."

"But you have family somewhere, right? Wouldn't they want to move in?" Emma wondered about that, but Bennett reminded her about the naturist lifestyle and that no one in their families were up for that.

"We're not bringing in people that force us to walk around in clothes if it's not necessary."

That made a lot of sense to the couple.

"Now, if you're up for it, let's have a swim. That pool will probably have to get used to having more than two people in it!" Bennett got up, walked to the pool and dived right into it. Lori all but ordered them to come along, and soon the four were swimming around, laughing, and throwing a ball around in a make-believe version of water volleyball that Bennett had once come up with.

Jeff and Emma were at her place in the evening, both tired from the visit that day. They'd stayed for dinner too, which had been excellent, and they'd promised to give the offer of living there some serious thought.

"It's amazing there, isn't it?" Emma said once again. "And they're so kind."

"True, they are, and they seem so very sincere too." Jeff kissed her on the cheek. "It's almost too good to be true. Problem with those things usually is that they are too good to be true. There has to be a catch."

Emma wondered if there was one. "I can see how they can get fed up living in that huge place all alone. And you saw how the two homes are separated, with the doors that can be locked on either side so the other family can't just waltz in.
