Before we discuss the cleaning of your baby, we need to have a quick word about your own levels of hygiene. Specifically, the fact that when you ‘do toilet’ you don’t always wash your hands afterwards. You were busy and let’s be honest, a few germs won’t kill you. But, as a new dad, that now has to change. Your baby’s immune system is weak and any germs on your hands can easily end up making her sick. So, as quickly as possible, get in the habit of washing your hands thoroughly after every toilet visit. Wash them, apply a moisturizer to prevent them from cracking and bleeding due to all the over-washing you’ll now be doing, dry them and maybe even squirt on a hand sanitizer. Two minutes later, wash them again and repeat the whole process. Because you can never be too sure, or too paranoid.
