Linguine with Tomatoes, Capers,

and Tuna

Cheese doesn’t really work with this sauce, but we’ve added a little garnish of toasted bread crumbs for texture. You could also use toasted panko if you don’t have time to make your own crumbs. Water-packed white tuna has about half the calories as oil-packed light tuna, so it’s a smart choice here.

1 (2-ounce) piece stale country bread, grated on the coarse holes of a box grater (1¼ cups crumbs)

½ cup fresh Italian parsley leaves, chopped

Kosher salt

6 garlic cloves, thinly sliced

¼ cup capers in brine, drained

3 anchovy fillets

Crushed red pepper flakes

1 (28-ounce) can whole San Marzano tomatoes, crushed by hand

2 (5-ounce) cans water-packed white tuna, drained
