Chapter 6

Revelation

A few days passed, each day feeling like a thousand years as the prince endlessly plotted his next move in confusion. Liam had finally gotten close to the girl he wanted back, but now, he could not do anything because he felt he would fail eventually.

He spent the past few days studying and monitoring Luna and Jeff, thinking of a way to get closer to her or eliminate the competition. He thought of several ways, including revealing himself to Patricia, but with each perfect plan came a pessimistic thought until the prince was left with nothing but emptiness in that big house he had bought.

He crashed on his bed and sighed deeply, allowing his eyes to wander along the ceiling, hoping for a divine jolt of inspiration, but nothing came except emptiness in his head.

As he turned restlessly in his bed, he heard his alarm start to ring. He picked up his phone and looked at the screen. It reminded him to follow Luna as she would be stepping out soon.

The prince had followed Luna to the point that he had gotten a proper layout of her activities and the time she would leave the house and perform certain activities with her newfound friend. He waited patiently, taking notes and dedicating his time to the craft until he found the perfect opening.

He will separate Luna from her newfound friend when he pays him off. And so the prince sat on the couch in his living room with a broad, mischievous grin.

"I think this dress would be perfect for me and the date I am going on," Luna said to Patricia, who was barely paying attention.

"Hey, what do you think?" she asked Pat, who glanced at her phone.

"Yeah, it's cool," she replied, quickly turning to her phone screen.

With a sigh, Luna's smile disappeared from her face. Pat's reply made her feel betrayed, but she couldn't complain. After all, some of her knew Pat played a massive role in helping her when she ran from the palace.

Her mind flashed back to when she and Liam were lovers, the times they would sneak off into the woods and steal one of the palace cars while bribing the guards so they could go for a ride.

She chuckled and glared at the dress she bought online, doubting for a moment if she had made the right decision.

"Hey Pat, do you think I made the right choice to buy this dress?" she asked Patricia, who was not paying attention.

"Patricia?!" she asked again, her voice a little louder than before.

"Oh, sorry, I wasn't paying attention. What did you say?" Pat replied, killing her morale.

"I was asking about the dress. I'm about to go out with Jeff," She started to speak but noticed an expression of disinterest on her friend's face when she mentioned Jeff's name.

"Could you at least support me for once?" she asked.

"Support you? I'm not against you. You know I have my reservations concerning this Jeff guy," she said, getting up from the couch and making a beeline for the kitchen.
