Dom
âUncle,â I croaked out.
Justine released my throat, and I coughed out a breath. I collapsed on the mat and stretched out my arms so that I could lay flat on my back while my lungs desperately tried to inflate. Justine had just knocked me on my ass for the third time. We had been at this for a while now, starting with strength training and stretching. I thought I was doing a good job, but when Justine had thrown off her cloak, wearing nothing more than tight leggings and a tank top, I got to see her muscles for the first time. And damn, the woman was built.
It was no surprise that she was strong, given how she performed in the Tower against some of the most vicious enemies like the skeleton army. I thought I had a shot, given the new rank benefits I had acquired yesterday, but even when Callie finally caved and read them out to me, we didnât know what any of them meant or how they translated into my physical attributes. Some of them made rational sense, like Weapons Proficiency, but we didnât know which weapons those were. Were they assigned to me? Did I pick them? Would I just get a weapon in my hand and suddenly know the most effective way to use it?
Justine interrupted my thoughts. She didnât need to say anything, but the way her sweat glistened off her skin caught my attention. The Knight shook out her long hair and redid her ponytail, one of the sexiest things I had ever seen her do.
That brought another level of torture to the training. Justine was a gorgeous woman, and having her all over, even in life-threatening situations, was attractive. It pulled at my groin in uncomfortable ways and would distract me all over again. During our second match, I completely gave in early, just so she wouldnât see or feel my hard-on.
Apparently, I looked at the Climber a little too long because she caught me staring. I tried to look away, but Justineâs chuckle was a sign that she had seen.
âYouâre distracted too easily, Dom,â she commented as she took a sip of water from her cup on the side of the room.
âWell, you certainly donât make it easy,â I said as I gestured to her body, as though she were on display.
Justine rolled her eyes, not taking the compliment. âYouâre going to completely blow it on Level 23.â
âHey,â I said as I sat up, my ab muscles crying out in pain as I did so. âThe Ice Queen isnât as hot as everyone lets on. Especially if youâve seen her go full demon mode.â
âSheâs not that scary,â Justine said with a scoff.
âYou say that, but you never got her pissed off enough,â I said as I pointed directly at the Climber. âMighty Mastiff got her and her army of ice sirens so riled up that she grew five times her size and eventually crushed him with a frozen stalagmite.â
âStalactite,â Justine said, thinking she was correcting me.
