2 cups chicken broth

2 cups milk

½ cup flour

¼ cup chopped fresh chives, plus more for garnish

½ teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon onion powder

½ teaspoon kosher salt, plus more to taste

½ teaspoon ground pepper, plus more to taste

2 cups grated cheddar cheese

1 cup sour cream

1 small yellow onion, chopped

3 pounds russet potatoes, peeled

½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter

2½ cups cornflakes

DIRECTIONS

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Place the chicken broth and ½ cup of the milk in a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a simmer.
