Instead of going straight home Steven met with Rashard.

“How do you feel?” asked Rashard.

“I’m a little shaken up. They knew about Gerald and there is no telling what else they know,” said Steven, looking out the window to make sure no one followed him.

Rashard led him into the dining room. The record books were sitting neatly on the table.

“Take a look at this shit.”

Steven took a seat at the table and began to turn through one of the books.

“You got to be joking. This shit got names and payment amounts. It’s a bunch of fucking people in here. I recognize some of the names in this book. A lot of people with some political clout are in this book. This shit is like Pandora’s box. Captain Wallace is all through this fucking book. He got paid some serious cash.”

“Look at the second one.”

“Damn, they got millions of those land grant deals. If we turn this shit in, they will be locked up for a long time” said Steven.

“This is why they want us dead,” said Rashard pointing at the three books.

The telephone in the kitchen started to ring. Rashard walked quickly over to the ringing object.

“Hello.”

“This is John Logan, Mr. Williams. My associates believe you have obtained some valuable information.”

“You punk motherfucker, you work for those bitches!”

“No need for hostile name calling sir, this is just business. You’re in the way of our arrangements. Mr. Williams, this can be very simple, if you don’t want your family in Montgomery and Houston hurt. You will listen to me very carefully. If you leak information to anyone, you will pay dearly for it. We want our stuff and we want it tomorrow.”

“I will meet you at Fort Toulouse off Highway 231 around eight in the evening. If you touch anyone in my family you’re a fucking dead man,” said Rashard.

“We will be there. Make sure you come alone. We will make sure that no park rangers or anyone else stumble up on our meeting,” said John before he hung up the telephone.

Rashard walked back into the dining room.

“What’s up Stone?” asked Steven looking at the frown on his face.

“You won’t believe this shit! John Logan from my father’s organization is apart of The Society. That explains why he was calling my uncle. The fool was trying to find out what I was up to.”

“What did he say?”

“He wants the records, but I got a few tricks up my sleeve. We are meeting at Fort Toulouse around eight. They want me alone, and they threatened my family in Montgomery and in Houston.”

“You for real?” asked Steven.

“I’m very serious. I got people from my unit watching my house so they are good.”

“I’m not letting you go alone.”

“I’m not going alone. You will be hidden and you will catch my back. I know the woods around Fort Toulouse very well. We used to go hunting in those woods all the time. We will go out there early and take those bitches out when they get there.
