Alessio slammed the door as he left the room. I removed my bra and panties and stepped into the shower. It was identical to the one in my room, only more masculine. When I stepped inside, I closed my eyes and held my face up to the water before sliding down to the floor. I pulled my knees into my chest and wrapped my arms around them. Was this to be my life? Living in a constant threat of danger. Tied forever to a man whose touch set me on fire, a man who takes what he wants without regret, a man I should hate and despise only to find myself burning for him.

I reached up and turned the water hotter and just reflected on everything that had happened. While my instincts told me to run, he was not safe, I knew this was my only chance to help my Aunt Nattie. She was the only family I had left, and I would live with the devil to help her.

The water started to cool, and I had lost track of how long I had sat there. I turned off the water and reached for a towel. Everything in the room smelled like him. I walked over to the counter by the sink and let my hands brush over his bottle of cologne.

I saw a black plush robe hanging beside the door. I dropped the towel and wrapped myself in it. It engulfed me, but as I didn’t have anything else to wear, I didn’t have a choice. I walked back into the bedroom. The bed was large with a deep red down comforter and more than enough pillows. I wanted to know what was going on. The wait was killing me, but I didn’t know if it was the shock of what happened or the long hot shower, but my eyes were feeling heavy. I climbed up onto Alessio’s bed and let sleep claim me, hoping that when I woke the nightmare would be over.
