“YES, SIR. I’m glad you liked the design. I’ll make those changes this weekend and have it to you by Monday. Thank you again for your business, Mr. Cooper.”

Patrick hung up and breathed a sigh of relief. Cooper’s website had been tricky, and the man had asked for changes every step of the way, but he seemed mostly satisfied with the nearly finished project. Once this one was done and dusted, Patrick would finish up Seth’s, then start on his next site. He loved the fact that the job afforded him the chance to work from home, not only because he was there for the kids if one of them was sick but also because it let him be there for them, so he didn’t have to rely on a sitter or asking Denise.

Speaking of which….

“Joey, Jenna? Are you guys ready? Uncle Seth will be here in a few minutes so we can go to see Aunt Denise and Uncle Travis.”

The two kids came around the corner, with big smiles on their adorable faces.

“Do you have your dress, Joey?”

“Yes, Daddy!”

Denise was going to take part in their hundredth or so viewing of Frozen, and Joey was just as excited now as he had been the first time. He utterly adored Elsa, and Olaf made him and Jenna laugh. When the buzzer sounded, Patrick pushed the button to answer, eager to see if it was Seth.

“Yes?”

“It’s Seth.”

Oh, the sound of his voice melted Patrick. Rich and dreamy—the stuff of fantasies, really.

“We’re on our way down.”

“Actually, can I come up? I’ve got something for you guys.”

“Of course. Come on up.” Patrick turned to the kids. “Uncle Seth has something for us.”

The two of them jumped up and down, then ran to the door when Seth knocked. Patrick pulled the door open to find Seth standing there, several large bags in hand.

“What did you do?”

When Seth’s cheeks pinked, Patrick knew he’d spent money. He wasn’t sure how he felt about that. It was one thing for him to make choices for Patrick, but he already bought dinners and had given the kids all those toys.

“Nothing extravagant. I promise. These are just a few necessities.”

“Don’t just stand there. Come on in.”

“What did you bring us, Uncle Seth? Can we see?”

“Hey, you guys know better than that! Let him in first.”

Jenna frowned but stepped away from the door, pulling Joey with her. “Sorry, Daddy.”

Once the way was clear, Seth strode into the room, all smiles and sweetness. Patrick closed the door, then winked at the kids.

“Okay, now you can ask.”

Seth chuckled. “You don’t have to. Let’s see what I have for you.”

He knelt down and opened one bag, then pulled out a box, which he handed to Jenna. “Okay, this is for you. Now don’t open it until everyone has theirs, okay?”

She nodded, her gaze not moving from the package in her hands. Seth gave one to Joey, then to Patrick before he stood.

“Okay, go ahead.”

They tore the boxes open, and when Patrick saw what Seth had given him….
