Arithmetic Operators

Moving on from constants and identifiers to operators, it should first be noted that Access categorizes operators into four groups:

Arithmetic

String

Comparison

Logical

We’ll discuss Arithmetic and String operators in this chapter. Comparison and Logical operators will be addressed in Chapter 8, “Selection Criteria.”

There are seven available arithmetic operators:

A plus sign (+) indicates addition

A dash (–) indicates subtraction

An asterisk (*) indicates multiplication
