In the emergency-response system of the developed world, there is a concept called the chain of survival: a series of actions or services that work together to save a person. We have a 911 call system, emergency-response units, firefighters and police, early on-site medical intervention, quick transportation, emergency department workers, and unit doctors and nurses.
