I AM SO CHANGED
I count it a privilege to make it known that Jesus is alive and that He not only changes lives, but gives eternal life to all who invite Him into their hearts. He did what religion and all else did not succeed in doing in my life.
Before I invited Jesus to become the Lord and Master of my life, I lived for myself. Certain circumstances in my life, which I am going to relate here, will make this clear: the fact that I was a sinner.
First of all, I easily got angry. It was as if I was bound by this sin, because it just controlled my life. Consequently, I could fight easily with anyone who made me angry. When I was angry, I did not care if my opponent was stronger than I. While I was doing my last year in Saker Baptist College, Limbe, I was made a perfect in charge of a dormitory of twenty-two girls. One night, when we were about to sleep, I noticed that there was no drinking water. I sent out the girls who were responsible for drinking water to go and bring water that night. On their way to the tap, they met the Principal and he told them to return to the dormitory and to fetch water the following day. I was not only angry but proud and, as such, when they came back, I sent them back to go and fetch the water. I had no respect for the Principal, for I yielded to the anger which always controlled me. These girls were finally brought back to the dormitory by the Principal himself.
Three years later, after I had left the High School, I was looking for a job. During this time I knew frustration as never before. I thought I could do away with this by going to the cinema. I made sure I saved the least franc I could get so as to go to the cinema. I became so used to the films that while watching the films, I could easily narrate to someone sitting by me how the film was going to proceed, even though I had never watched that particular film before. This was because I had become so used to watching them that I could imagine what would appear next on the screen. I watched all sorts of immoral and horrible films, hoping to drown my frustration. However, the frustration continued. Soon there was an evangelistic crusade on the Bamenda Stadium organised by believers. This campaign lasted ten days, but I went there only on the last day because I heard that people were crying over their sins. After the gospel was preached, the preacher asked that those who recognized that they were sinners and wanted Jesus to forgive them and come into their hearts, should indicate. I did so and I was prayed for. The preacher also asked that those who were sick and wanted Jesus to heal them should indicate. I had chronic filaria which gave me black spots on my leg.
