Creating a link to your blog
If you click on the link to your blog under your My account page, you are taken to the blog’s main page. Copy the URL from your browser’s navigation bar.
To add a link to your blog to the Primary links menu, follow these steps:
1. Choose Administer⇒Site building⇒Menus.
2. Locate and click on the menu to which you want to add your blog.
In my case, I click on Primary links. You see a list of menu items already in the Primary links menu.
3. Click on the Add item tab.
4. In the Path field, enter the URL of your blog.
In my case, it is http://drupalfordummies.com/blog/1.
5. In the Menu link title, enter the text you want for your link.
In my case, I enter Lynn’s Drupal Blog. The rest of the settings are optional and have been discussed earlier.
Entering a description is a good idea. When visitors to your site move their mouse cursor over the link, they see this text. It also provides search engines a little more information about your site and can improve your ranking in search results. Every little bit helps!
6. Click Save.
You are now back on the List items page.
Before you leave this page, drag your new link to your blog where you want it. I moved mine beside the Contact Me link, so that it appears to the left of Contact Me (see Figure 9-10).
In this figure, even though I have reordered by links, I have not yet pressed the Save configuration button, so the Primary links menu, shown across the top of the page, doesn’t reflect the new order. Only after I press the Save configuration button will the Primary links menu will be in the new order:
