This example uses footage of actor Steve Roth (seen in Figures 7.40 through 7.42), portraying the Egyptian god Ra looking down at his worshippers and then victoriously holding up his spear, shot on a greenscreen. Steve is wearing a helmet and holding a broomstick affixed with reflective tracking markers for an experimental rig I created using a high-powered LED diode attached to the top of the camera lens hood. This allowed the tracking markers to glow and reflect the diode’s light while not being bright enough to cast any visible light on the actor or the background. A stone hawk head will replace Steve’s head and helmet, and a matching spear will replace the broomstick.
