CHAPTER TEN

Evan stayed awake for a long time after Eliza dozed off on his chest. He was enjoying the feeling of her warm breath on his skin and the feeling of her smooth skin under his hand. While she slept, she occasionally burrowed herself even closer to him or tightened an arm or leg around him. Each time she moved, Evan’s entire body flushed with pleasure.

He wasn’t surprised that he only managed to sleep for a couple of hours before he was awake again. It was surprising to find that Eliza was no longer in bed with him.

“Elle?” he called out as he sat up and looked around. Their clothes were still strewn about the room, but there was no sight of Eliza.

Evan headed into the hall and heard music and the clanging of a pan in the distance. He was smiling when he stepped into the kitchen. Eliza looked perfectly at home using his stove to make breakfast, coffee cup in hand and wearing nothing but her underwear and lacy camisole.

“Good lord,” Evan breathed. “It should be illegal to look that sexy so early in the morning.”

She turned and smiled at him. “Likewise, Hardy.”

“How long have you been up?” he asked, noting the half-empty coffeepot.

“Maybe an hour?” Eliza tilted her head. “Do I get a good morning kiss or not?”

“You get whatever in the hell you want,” Evan said, pulling her close and kissing her hard on the lips. As his hands slipped over the curve of her butt, she let out a slight moan.

“We don’t have a lot of time,” she said. “My parents are leaving town in two hours.”

Evan smirked. “That’s more than enough time for what I have in mind, love.”

“I was going to make breakfast,” Eliza said, even as she pushed her body against his. “Aren’t you hungry?”

“Ravenous,” Evan replied, lifting her onto the counter. “I’m craving you, Elle.”

When she kissed him, it was with so much desire that he knew Eliza was craving him, too. “What are you waiting for, Hardy?” she teased, sliding her hand down his torso.

“Are you sure you want to do this?” he asked. Evan still clearly remembered how she had reacted the previous night and he didn’t want to do anything that might trigger her again.

“Yes,” she said firmly. “I promise I’m not going to freak out on you this time.”

“I don’t care about that, Elle,” Evan said, stroking her cheek. “I just want you to feel comfortable.”

“I’ll feel way more comfortable once you’re inside me, Hardy,” she said with a flirty smile. “Are you going to make me beg?”

Evan laughed. “If I’m doing my job, comfortable will be the last thing you feel, love.”

“You always do your job,” Eliza said, nibbling on his ear. “Do it now. Please.”

Evan wasn’t going to make her ask again. He couldn’t resist Eliza Kingston in the best of circumstances, but certainly not when she was half-naked on his kitchen counter and nibbling on his ear.
