The boutique hotel was a thing of sheer beauty. It was understated, but in the most elegant and classy way imaginable. Jake felt a little bit nervous to begin with at being in such an expensive place but having Damian with him made him feel secure.

‘You belong here,’ Damian said. ‘You deserve the world, boy. And I’m going to give it to you.’

‘Thank you, Damian,’ Jake replied, smiling and enjoying the feeling of Damian squeezing his hand.

Jake and Damian walked through the hotel lobby and were greeted by a smartly dressed young maître d’. The maître d’s name was Jessie and it was soon quite apparent that he was a submissive too.

‘Good evening Mr. Sorrento,’ Jessie said. ‘And good evening to you too, Jake.’

‘H-h-h-how do you know my name?’ Jake said, taken aback.

‘Easy-squeezy,’ Jessie said. ‘Mr. Sorrento is a valued patron and investor in this hotel. So when he tells us that he’s bringing a special guest here, we listen and make sure we’re ready to make you feel welcome.’

‘Not that I make a habit of bringing boys here,’ Damian said, making sure that there weren’t any misunderstandings.

‘It’s okay,’ Jake said. ‘I know what Jessie meant!’

‘Enough sass,’ Damian growled. ‘I’m hungry and I believe our tasting menu should be ready any moment?’

‘Yes, sir,’ Jessie said. ‘If you two would follow me please.’

As Jake and Damian followed Jessie through the lobby and into the smart, sophisticated dining hall, Jake couldn’t help but feel that he had almost certainly judged Damian too soon.

Damian could be bossy, arrogant, and even a little bit smug at times. But behind that outer shell, there was a kind, compassionate man who only wanted to make Jake happy.

Is it too soon?

Am I crazy for even thinking it?

But is Damian my… true love?
