For example, in the census example, the decisions to allocate resources to states are made on alternative years (not every year). So, we need to consider an even number of years. This is one type of condition that we face on our projects. This condition is just an example to demonstrate that. We need to filter the data based on certain requirements like these. The filtering condition in our case is for even number of years. In the rows we can see data on individual states and we have also introduced the current year. As per our purpose statement the decision will depend upon the population growth and population of current year.

In the table data we collected from the census website contains numbers until 2015 only. So we need to predict the data using some mathematical calculations and also we need to do aggregation to combine all counties that are in the same state. This we are going to do in mining phase which is the next phase after filter phase.
