I can’t remember the last time I felt this good. The adrenaline rush I just had in Callan’s car is something I’ve never experienced in my life. And I’ve never touched myself like that, especially not in front of someone. But I just let my boss watch me as I fingered myself in the passenger seat of his car and I’ve never been more turned on in my life.

We pull into the parking garage and once we’re parked, we walk over to the elevator. I can’t keep it together; I need to be touched by Callan.

He looks calm, his suit tighter on his body than should be allowed. It shows everything. We wait patiently in the elevator as it climbs up the building, the anticipation rising with each floor we pass.

We finally reach his floor, the elevator doors opening slowly. He walks out confidently; he loosens his tie as we walk into his foyer, which only makes the ache in my core stronger. I follow behind in silence. I can’t tell what he’s thinking. I wish I could read his mind right now.

Next thing I know, he’s headed straight to his bedroom. He doesn’t make eye contact, doesn’t even say a word but I follow him anyway.

Before I can even say anything, the door to the bathroom closes behind him and the shower starts running. I knock on the door, but he doesn’t answer. Did I do something wrong? Maybe I misread the signals. Maybe he’s waiting for me to join him? I jiggle the handle, but it’s locked. What kind of game is he playing?

I try to distract myself as I glance around Callan’s bedroom. There isn’t much to see, simply perfect beige walls with perfect black and white cityscapes framed along them. I twiddle my thumbs as I sit at the edge of the bed, adjusting and readjusting my increasingly uncomfortable dress. I expected this dress to already be on the floor by now.

I hear the shower stop running and feel a twinge of nervousness and excitement all at once. But the minutes continue to pass, and I continue to sit in silence, awkward and alone.

I’d prefer to be passing the time on my phone, but it’s almost dead. I don’t feel comfortable rummaging through Callan’s apartment to find a charger, and I’m getting increasingly annoyed by the minute. The time is nearing midnight and the last bus stops running in about thirty minutes. I guess if I miss it, I can walk.

“Callan,” I shout through the door, tired of waiting another second. “Is everything okay?” I wait for a moment but all I get is silence. I knock at the door. “Hey, I think I’m gonna head out now so I can catch the last bus,” I try to hide the disappointment in my voice. But he still doesn’t answer.

I wait for a minute, letting out a frustrated sigh in realization that I am way in over my head here. Confusion runs through my mind like a plague, wondering what I possibly could have done wrong.
