Nobody But You
Chandler drove to the ranch with Lindaâs favorite stuff from his exâs house. He went to his house first before going to get Linda from Heather. He knew his ex would do this. He missed four years of Lindaâs life because of her. He got everything in her room. Chandler is happy that he has found Heather and Hearts and Hands. His baby girl would be safe from her mother and that side of the family. He could smell the food Heather was making and opened the door to Heather, Linda, and Sweetie sitting at the table, eating and laughing.
âDaddy.â Linda got up, ran to him, and hugged him.
âHey, Baby girl.â Linda pulled him to the table.
Chandler kissed Heather on her head and then sat next to Linda.
âHeather, thank you for the lunch.â
âI got the job I wanted and will start tomorrow. So, can you feed the horse before you go to work?â
âI can do that for you, Heather.â Linda smiled, âMy first class is at 8:30. Thank you for this afternoon.â
âI will show you everything tonight.â
They finished their lunch together.
After Heather's first full day at her new job the next day, she got home and saw Ember riding out with Linda. Heather went into the house to put on her boots for an afternoon ride on Rocky. Getting out of Rocky, she saw that his stall was cleaned. Heather and Rocky got out to the big ring with Ember and Linda.
âHow was the first day?â Ember asked.
âI will like there, and the kids are nice.â
âThatâs great, Heather. You know Leo and I can check on the horses.â
âThank you. Linda, how did the feeding go today?â
âGood, and we have half a week all this week and next. I will be getting home before you. So, I will help water and clean out stalls.â
Heatherâs heart feels love for Chandlerâs little girl. The three of them rode for the next hour.
Heather reviewed the monthly bills and lists of feeds she needed for the next month. Sweetie lay next to her at the table. âSweetie, what do you want for Christmas?â He looked at her and rolled over on his back. Heather got up and started putting up Christmas stuff. As she was putting up her and Sweetieâs stockings, Chandler walked into the house with almost every color of the rose. He took them to the table and went to help Heather down. He was kissing Heather with a heartfelt love for her. âHeather, I am in love with you. The roses are for helping my baby girl get the new job and much more.â Kissing her again. âAnd how was your first day?â
Her brown eyes looked up at him. âIt was good, but this is better.â Kissing him again.
After dinner, Linda returned to the little red barn, did homework, and called her girlfriend. Chandler washed the dishes as Heather took out more Christmas stuff.
âChandler. You can if you and Linda want to set up your own Christmas stuff in this house.
