Chapter Twelve
Adamâs mouth was hot and hungry when it captured hers, and Olivia responded with just as much heat and hunger. Heâd warned her against trusting chemistry, but there was no denying that when she was close to him, something sparked. Something powerful and maybe even a little bit dangerous.
His hands were on her now, his touch adding fuel to the fire that burned inside her. For him. Only for him. She fisted her hands in his sweater, holding on to him as the world spun. When his tongue traced the seam of her lips, she parted them willingly. When he eased her back onto the sofa, she was more than willing. She was eager. Desperate.
There was so much heat between them that she was certain all the bones in her body had melted. Even her brain had gone to mush. She could think of nothing but Adam, want nothing but Adam.
âI should never have kissed you last week.â
The words were muttered against her lips, and she might have taken offense to them if not for the fact that he was still touching her, still kissing her.
âI can tell youâre full of regrets.â
He chuckled softly as his hands slid beneath the hem of her sweater. âYou make me crazy, Liv.â
âSanity is overrated.â
âLetâs get rid of this,â he suggested, lifting the hem of her sweater and whisking it over her head, revealing her red lace bra. He sucked in a breath. âYou. Are. So. Damn. Sexy.â
Sexy wasnât a word she ever would have used to describe herself. But the way Adam was looking at her now, she felt sexy. Desirable.
Desired.
âI need to touch you.â
She shivered as his callused palms moved over her torso, the rough texture scraping lightly over her tender skin, making her shiver.
âI want you to touch me.â
The tight peaks of her nipples pressed against the lacy fabric of her bra, practically begging for his attention.
Her breath caught as his thumbs skimmed over her breasts, tracing circles around her nipples until she was almost whimpering with want, with need. She did whimper when his hands dropped away from her breasts, and he responded with a wicked smile before he lowered his head and took one of the taut, aching peaks into his mouth.
She gasped, then moaned, as he laved and suckled, causing arrows of heat to spear toward her center.
He shifted his attention to her other breast, showing it the same careful attention, until she was practically writhing beneath him. Then he unhooked the front fastening of her bra and peeled back the cups, baring her breasts to his gaze, his hands, his mouth.
Desperate to touch him, too, she slid her hands beneath the hem of his sweater, whimpering with frustration when she encountered another layer of fabric instead of skin. He pulled away from her only long enough to yank the sweater and T-shirt over his head, then he was kissing her again.
She was more than ready to surrender to the desire that thrummed in her veins, and
