Grilled Plums with Whiskey and Clotted Cream
A super-fast recipe that transforms a few plums into a great dinner party dessert. Use softly whipped cream or vanilla ice cream if you can’t get clotted cream.
Serves 2–4
4 ripe plums, halved and pitted
2 tbsp Irish whiskey (optional)
2–4 tbsp soft light brown sugar
clotted cream, to serve
Preheat the grill.
Place the plum halves, cut side up, in a gratin dish and drizzle with the whiskey (if using), then scatter the sugar over.
Place under the grill and cook for 7–10 minutes until the plums are juicy and bubbling and the sugar has caramelised. Serve with clotted cream.
