4. To make each card blank, cut a piece of card 10.5 × 21cm (4⅛ × 8¼in), score down the centre and fold in half. Glue a 9.5cm (3¾in) square in a complementary colour to the centre of the card blank. Mount a stripy tree in the centre using small 3D foam pads, and making sure that the base of the triangle is parallel to the card square.

5. Use the gel pens to add detail to the stripy tree with lines of dots that either follow the curves of the decorative edges or run straight through the middle of the paper strips. Start by decorating every third strip of paper and add more detail as you feel necessary. Remember that sometimes less is more – do not spoil this simple design by over embellishing it.
