Chapter Five
Corbin
After pawning my prisoner off onto my brothers, I drive back to the diner only to find out my girl isn’t working there anymore. I have a feeling she isn’t the kind of girl who goes after what she wants so I know she isn’t calling me. That just won’t do because there’s chemistry between the two of us. It sizzled back in that diner.
I’ve learned to trust my gut over the years, and my gut is telling me this girl is the one. I don’t even know her name. I know her though. I know the feelings she stirs in me. In my cock. No way am I leaving town without her.
I’ll find her even if I have to drive all over this one-horse town to find my girl. I get back into my truck and drive out of the lot, wondering which direction I should try first. Instinct takes over, making me turn left. It doesn’t even take five minutes before I see my girl at a bus stop a little piece down the road. She’s looking all downtrodden, not a good look for her.
Smiles are all I want to see on my girl’s face. Pulling up next to the bus stop, I push the button to lower the passenger side window. I’m pleased to see a smile brighten her face. Fuck, she’s beautiful.
“Get in. It’s too fucking cold in this state to be waiting for a bus,” I tell her.
She looks around like she isn’t sure what to do. I give her the minute she needs and see exactly when she decides to take a chance on me. She gives me a shy smile and opens the door. When her foot slips, she practically falls into the cab and into my lap.
“Sorry. I’m kind of a klutz,” she says.
My arms wrap around the curvy girl, bringing her closer to me so she’s sitting in the middle of the bench seat. I reach over and pull the door shut before belting her in.
“Don’t worry about it. You’re exactly where I want you to be.” She shivers as my fingers graze her waist. “What’s your name?” I ask her.
“Sarah?” her voice is shy and she answers more like she’s asking than telling.
“Sarah. That’s a beautiful name for a beautiful girl.” I smile at her and pull out into the road. “I’m going to be honest with you, Sarah. I’m driving through. I have to be back in Florida in two days with that piece of shit I picked up at the diner or I’m on the hook to the court for that creep’s bail. So, I don’t have time to take this little romance slow.”
I glance at Sarah. Her breathing hitches as she takes in what I’m saying. It’s hard to tell if that’s a good sign or not so I barrel on through. “As soon as I saw you, I knew you were it for me. The moment I looked into your eyes it was like lightning struck.
