Whyyyy does she insist on booking these things? You don’t see JoJo Siwa or Baby Ariel running around malls. But I don’t have an agent. And I need an agent. And I just want to tell her, like, we’ve been doing this for years. Don’t you think if the golden ticket was coming, we would’ve gotten it by now?

When I was 6 I booked my first commercial for an orange juice company. National. Mom was hype. She spent 200 bucks at the salon getting her hair done to just sit in the waiting room and watch. I had pigtails. I sat at an old picnic table and drank careful sips from a glass as big as my head, licking my lips and exclaiming, “Oranges never tasted so fresh!” By the time it wrapped, I had about 3 gallons of that gross stuff swimming in my stomach and splinters from the stupid table. The director told her I was a natural but didn’t call us for the next one.

After my bday, she told me that if I keep doing these Chloe Cates skits, I can start real school in September.

Which OMG huge deal, right? Except I don’t believe her. She lies all the time to get me to do what she wants. Part of me REALLY hopes she’s telling the truth this time. But I know her.

Sigh. Maybe I could go to school with *him.* Walk down the hall holding hands or hang out at each other’s lockers. JJ says he doesn’t go to his locker and I need to stop watching teen dramas.

OK OK. No more mystery. Real talk. *His* name is Chris. He’s from Lower Madison and I think I’m in love.

He’s HOT. Think Tom Holland and Ansel Elgort had a baby. Boy Next Door but dreamier. Brown eyes. Brown hair. Freckles. I love freckles. Tall, too. Mom’s always saying it’s better to date tall guys b/c short guys ruin pictures.

He loves:

1. Science

2. Video games

3. Grilled cheese sandwiches

4. Cats (eh)

He hates:

1. Pickles (me too!)

2. Chores

3. Fallout (which . . . is a game, I guess? IDK, I’ll have to google it)

4. Taylor Swift (Don’t worry. I told him: Tay is *QUEEN*)

He’s also so sweet. I mean the messages, the butterfly necklace. V Adorbs. He told me about how his dad wants him to play football, but he doesn’t want to. He wants to do this engineering club. Building robots. They go to national competitions.

He totally gets it.

He gets me.

I can’t wait to see what he’s like in person.
