Recipe 24: Lime and Chipotle Hot Chicken Wings

Do you think that wings are spicy ENOUGH when they’re made with Sriracha sauce? These wings go beyond that level of heat without even using Sriracha.

Serving Size: 8

Cooking Time: 3 hours

Ingredients:

2 pounds of chicken wings, bone-in

2 tbsp. of adobo sauce-packed chipotle peppers

1 tbsp. of water, filtered

2 fresh limes, juice only + extra to serve

1 lime, zest only

Salt, kosher

Pepper, freshly ground

Directions:

Place the chicken wings in a slow cooker.

In a large mixing bowl, combine water, adobo-sauce-packed chipotles, lime juice & zest—season as desired. Pour the mixture over wings. Stir, coating well.

Cover slow cooker. Cook at High setting till chicken has cooked fully through, 2-3 hours.

Heat the broiler. Line two cookie sheets with baking paper. Pour the wings on cookie sheets. Broil wings till crispy, about five minutes. Squeeze lime over them and serve.
