“We’ve come all this way,” Lizzie says. “Let’s try to get in.”

You splash through the creek, the water up to your knees. Just as you approach the fence, you hear something crashing off to your left. You’re sure of it this time. You scan the swamp, and a tall figure moves in the fog. It turns toward you, and you lift your camera to your face and take a photo. But the thing is shrouded in fog.

Maybe it was nothing after all. Just in case, you fire off a dozen more photos. You check the screen, and they all show just shadows and fog.

“We need to get closer,” Lizzie whispers.
