Fake abundance

This is where you think you are abundant but are not. This means you have debt on credit cards and a mortgage on a home. You may feel rich and abundant on the outside; however, on the inside, deep in your subconscious, you know that if you lost your job or other regular income, you could be out on the streets.

This isn’t feeling abundant. Being abundant means that you could lose all that you own, and everything will be fine. This is why the rich get richer. They feel superabundant. They have so much money in the bank that if their house burned to the ground with all the furnishings and the yacht sank, they know they would be okay. They don’t worry about it.

The worst thing about having a nice car is worrying about it. Being abundant means having a nice car where you can replace it in a heartbeat should anything happen to it. Do you feel that way with your car now? What about a beach chair? Would you worry that you wouldn’t be able to replace a beach chair? No. That’s the level of abundance you need to feel about an expensive car.

I paid cash for my Honda. I also paid cash for my home (which I manifested. The story in a later chapter). I have nothing to worry about in terms of debt. I have insurance on both. That wasn’t always the case. I had debt, but I was feeling like a big shot with credit cards and beautiful cars. But I didn’t own any of it. It could all be taken away from me.

To feel abundant, you must feel real abundance. The mistake I made with my $5 tip experiment is that I started too high. I should have just started with $1 or $2. I don’t always tip counter people. Sometimes I don’t have any one-dollar bills, and sometimes I don’t get outstanding service. However, I should have done the same experiment with $1 or $2 and made a commitment to do that. This way, no one would feel awkward. They wouldn’t feel uncomfortable about me tipping them every day, and I wouldn’t feel embarrassed that they were feeling awkward and that I wasn’t as rich as maybe a $5 tipped warranted.

I’ve seen too many failures where people try to run before they could crawl. I have some strategies later in the book that work well in this department.
