Test Scope

In his book Succeeding with Agile (Addison-Wesley), Mike Cohn outlines a model called the Test Pyramid to help explain what types of automated tests you need. The pyramid helps us think about the scopes the tests should cover, but also the proportions of different types of tests we should aim for. Cohn’s original model split automated tests into Unit, Service, and UI, which you can see in Figure 7-2.
