Glancing at the map display on his smartphone, Gogoi saw that his destination was another 500 metres ahead. It had to be, because he could see the dark, ominous outline of a hill range up ahead. Unless the track was meant to negotiate that too, he was nearly at the end of his trip. After a short distance, he came to a bend on the track, as it curved again to the south. He could not see beyond the curve, but noticed that the track had begun to widen. He turned and immediately came to an open space. On it, was a large green shed, about 100-feet long and 50-feet wide. There was only one door and no windows. The door was closed. There was no one around. A completely secluded spot.

As Gogoi switched off the engine and the headlights, a black opaqueness settled into the area, the eerie silence of early evening. He wondered who the owner was. Apprehension writ large on his face, the ASI got out of his car and began to walk towards the shed, just when it started to drizzle.
