Rex

Later that evening, my woman was in a full snit. “What the hell are you talking about! You told them! All of them? Are you insane? Do you have a death wish?” I watched as Shay paced on her bare feet, her long as fuck legs going for days in a pair of the tiniest booty shorts I hoped to hell were pajamas. Seriously, those shorts were a hair above underwear, pink with little skulls and red roses stitched into the pattern. Her tits were encased in a slip of cotton that had next to nothing at her shoulders. The wild mane of dark espresso colored hair I loved running my fingers through was twisted up on top of her head in a funky knot with little wisps poking out in every direction.

Christ, she was beautiful.

Her face was clear of any makeup, and her ice-blue gaze was set at scalding. Eventually, she stopped pacing, slapped her bare thighs, and just glared at me.

As I suspected, my old lady was not fond of the path I’d taken regarding our relationship. Outing us to the club, sharing my intentions about her, and the fact that I had officially claimed her did not go over well. On either front. Instead of spewing some sugary bullshit, I just waited it out and watched her heart-shaped ass strut back and forth across her small kitchen,

“Yep, you’re certifiable. That’s the only conclusion. The Gauntlet? For real? That’s some bullshit if I ever heard it. What are they going to do? String you up by your toes and hang you from a tree? No, let me guess, tie ropes to each of your limbs, attach the ends onto a Harley and rip you to pieces?” She blew a loud breath between the most sumptuous lips I’ve ever had the pleasure of kissing and pouted. “Baby, they’re going to hurt you. I know it.”

I nodded. “Yeah, they are. And it will be worth every second to know that I have my woman’s honor vindicated and get to keep the respect of my brothers.”

Her face twisted up into a pinched expression that was cute as fuck. “I don’t want this for you. No man should have to go through this messed up crap in order to be with a woman. My family is so fucked up!” Tears filled her eyes, but she firmed up her chin, compressed her lips into a flat line, and breathed through it.

My strong, beautiful girl.

I walked over to where she stood and saw her shoulders start to slump, all the fight leaving her body shaken. I wrapped my arms around my woman and tilted her jaw up to face mine. “I’ll take any hit. Suffer any pain, physical or otherwise, to keep you in my life, Shay.”

Her eyes were the prettiest sky-blue, shimmering with tears that didn’t fall. “But you shouldn’t have to.”

I dipped my head and took her mouth in a long, lingering kiss. “Yeah, I do. It’s our way, pussycat. I’m claiming a biker princess not some random woman off the street.
