* The Todt organization, named after her founder, built roads and fortifications for the Reich during World War II, using local and slave labor. It was well known that young people from the Nazi sphere of influence, as well as prisoners, were used as manpower for the large construction projects of the Todt organization. Therefore, Filov’s argument that the deported Jews might be used as a workforce for Todt could seem logical.
